How to Find Me

By Bus or Train

I am a little under a mile from the two stations at St Budeaux, but trains stop infrequently there, so it is often better to go to Plymouth main station.

To get train and bus times to my door, go to www.travelinesw.com
Click on the “Plan your journey” tab, put your start point in the “From” box and put
Plymouth, 64 Bridwell Road PL5 1AB (address)
in the “To” box.

Map: by foot from Plymouth Station to the Bus stop

From Plymouth station, turn right out of the concourse and follow the service road to the dual carriageway. Take the footbridge to the bus stop at the far side. Then take any bus to St Budeaux Square or Saltash.

The number 13 bus can drop you off at the St Philip’s Church stop, Bridwell Road, just past my door. It runs at just past the hour from 9am to 6pm from the station stop and arrives at St Philips Church at 20 past the hour. Return buses leave from near the Weston Mel store on the corner with Keyham Street at 35 minutes past the hour and arrive at the station stop at 50 minutes past the hour.

Buses 1, 1A, X5, 43, 76, 572, 576, 592 can drop you at Camel’s Head School.

From this bus stop, cross the road at the lights, towards the Weston Mill Primary School.
From here or if you have come from St Budeaux, cross Weston Mill Drive towards the bungalows.

Go to the next traffic lights near the fire station. Then turn left up Carlton Terrace as far as York Road and turn right into York Road.
Take the second proper left turning in York Road into Northumberland Street.

Go up Northumberland Street until you reach the crossroads with the Weston Mill pub on your left, a new block of flats on your far right and I am on the far left, with the door still in Northumberland Street, facing the flats.

By Road:
From Tavistock and the North or from the East along the A38

From Tavistock or the North, join the A38 at the Manadon interchange to go West for one junction.

From the East on the A38 take the junction after the Tavistock/Manadon junction.
This is the “WESTON MILL” junction marked “ Devonport (B 3396) ”
(It is actually the A 3064 on all maps but leads eventually to the B3396 to and through Devonport.)

Turn left at the bottom of the slip road, or:

From Cornwall and the West

From the West take the 2nd junction after the Tamar Bridge
(not counting the roundabout at the East end of the bridge)
Again, this is the “WESTON MILL” junction marked “ Devonport (B 3396) ”
(ie. the A 3064 on all maps but leads eventually to the B3396 to and through Devonport.)

Take the second exit from the mini roundabout at the bottom of the slip road, under the A38 and along the only road available for about a mile.

(Beware of the 50 mph limit, there are sometimes mobile speed traps on this section and beware the fixed camera a couple of hundred yards after the 30 mph limit.)

Just after the speed camera and immediately after the fire station,
turn RIGHT at the FIRST set of traffic lights into Carlton Terrace.
Go up the hill to the top of Carlton Terrace
and follow the main road sharp right into Bridwell Road.
Go over the first crossroads and stop at the SECOND cross roads.

No 64 is on the near left corner of the 2nd crossroads, with the
Weston Mill pub opposite on the near right corner
and a new block of flats is on the far left corner.

Parking is easiest up Northumberland Street to the Left, but it is a bit steep.
The door is on the side of the building in Northumberland Street, opposite the flats, near the junction.

From Plymouth City Centre

From North Cross Roundabout (near the Railway Station),

Take the A386 Signposted to Tavistock.
Down the hill, under the railway bridge to Pennycomequick Roundabout.
Take the 2nd exit (Straight On) up Alma Road.

Take the Left Filter at the end of Alma Road, as you are passing the Bus Depot on your left,
But go Straight On through the 2 sets of lights:
between the snooker hall on your left,
and the Britannia Wetherspoons Pub on your right,
into the beginning of the A3064 Wolseley Road, towards St Budeaux.

Continue on Wolseley Road over a roundabout (2nd exit)
to the 4th set of junction lights (not counting pedestrian lights.)
Turn Right at these 4th lights
(opposite the Camel’s Head entrance to the dockyard and signposted to A38)
onto Weston Mill Drive –

and Turn IMMEDIATELY LEFT at the next lights into Carlton Terrace.
Go up the hill to the top of Carlton Terrace
and follow the main road sharp right into Bridwell Road.
Go over the first crossroads and stop at the SECOND cross roads.

No 64 is on the near left corner of the 2nd crossroads, with the
Weston Mill pub opposite on the near right corner and
a new block of flats on the far left corner.
